Who We Are:
Faces of Courage Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 based in Tampa, FL that provides day outings and overnight camps for women, children and families touched by all types of cancer and blood disorders. All programs are made available to the participants and their families at no cost. Our services are palliative in support and focus on developing strong positive attitudes towards recovery and good health management. We currently have served over 5,500 cancer families.
What We Do:
Faces of Courage provides the following Programs for people diagnosed with any type of Cancer and Blood Disorders:
From 1999 through 2003 Peggie D. Sherry was the Regional Director of a Cancer Camp based out of NY. When in 2003 her Breast Cancer came back for the second time in six months they decided to close the FL program. At that time the campers rallied around Peggie and encouraged her to start a nonprofit to continue providing weekend camps and day outings. In January 2004 Faces of Courage was born using an inheritance Peggie received from her parents, John and Cynthia Drolshagen, who both had faced cancer during their lifetimes. In the past 10 years cancer campers have attended these ‘free’ programs from all over the United States and the Caribbean Islands.
