Who We Are:
Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida was launched in 1979 by a group of concerned Lutheran churches and Jacksonville community leaders. We are a secular agency with Christian values.
What We Do:
Our mission is, “Motivated and guided by the compassion of Christ, we serve and care for people in need.” Over the last 35 years, we have grown tremendously and have developed a reputation for providing innovative, effective and credible programs within the community. We operate 5 core programs, including the AIDS Care and Education (ACE) program.
The ACE Program (AIDS Care and Education) was created in 1992 to provide assistance to people who are HIV positive or living with AIDS. Today, the ACE program serves more than 1,000 individuals each year, offering case management, mental health counseling, outreach, early intervention, nutrition assistance and housing services.
There are more than 350 reported HIV diagnoses in Jacksonville, Florida, each year. Every HIV diagnosis begins the same way. People’s worlds fall apart. The ACE program is there to pick up the pieces.
