Thanks for all your support and votes.
This organization is about community, helping raise awareness about cervical cancer and HPV, and truly making a difference.
I have been with Raise A Racket from the beginning and I am a foot soldier in this war against cervical cancer.
I love that The Crawford Crew is so dedicated to educating young people about cervical cancer and HPV. I enjoy being a part of helping The Crawford Crew to bring cervical cancer to the table, educating people on it, and hopefully putting an end to cervical cancer in the future.
The energy in this group is mesmerizing. It's an energy that grows and continues to spread.
The Crawford Crew Foundation is a small, Westerville, Ohio based charity focused on eradicating cervical cancer one state at a time. Our foundation is made up of volunteers who range in age from 5-85 years old. We are passionate about educating others on the prevention of cervical cancer and raising awareness of this preventable disease. Many families participate together in fundraisers and at educational summits and events. We are great at bringing strangers together who ultimately become life long friends.
The Crawford Crew (TCC) has a Junior Board that is comprised of middle school through college aged kids who are a group of diverse, fun, passionate, and ambitious individuals with the common goal of making a difference in their community. Junior Board members volunteer their time, energy, and resources to help support The Crawford Crew events and initiatives. Being a Junior Board member with TCC is a unique opportunity to see first-hand how a grassroots nonprofit functions, from understanding more about the larger world around you to learning how to fund-raise, all while working alongside like-minded peers.
Mission
Our goal, simply, is to raise money and pour it into patient assistance, education, research, school and community outreach programs for cervical cancer, and other gynecological cancers.
Thanks to help from many volunteers, donors and partners, The Crawford Crew has been able to stay true to their mission and make significant impacts throughout the community.
Our primary fundraiser each year is Raise A Racket for Cervical Cancer Awareness(TM). In addition, we sell handmade crystal heart pendants, appropriately known as Hearts of Hope(TM). These pendants are created year-round by our volunteers. Each year various organizations graciously raise funds on our behalf. Strike Out Cancer, Zumba for a Cause, Gather to Give, Drive Against Cancer, and The Pointless Pursuit are a few examples of the events that have raised money for The Crawford Crew.
Impact and Support
We are proud to partner with many groups that share our vision. Some of these organizations are (but not limited to): Appalachia Community Cancer Network, Hope Hollow, The James - The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Mount Carmel Nursing Program, and OhioHealth, Otterbein University Health & Sport Science Department.
August 12, 2009 would have been a day like any other for Diane Crawford had that not been the day she learned she had cervical cancer. Two weeks earlier, a routine appointment with her gynecologist revealed abnormal cells in her cervix. A few weeks after that, she endured a radical hysterectomy. Thanks to early detection and the quick work of her doctors, Diane is now cancer free.
Her first thoughts after diagnosis were of her husband, Andy, and their three children. What will not surprise you if you know Di personally is that her next thoughts were about helping others. Helping others is what The Crawford Crew is about.
