Wolfson Children's Hospital began as a 50 bed pediatric wing in 1955. The vision of Morris Wolfson in a letter to his sons, it was his hope to leave a legacy by creating a children's clinic that cared for every child, regardless of race, religion, or ability to pay. Today Wolfson Children's has grown to a 216 bed hospital serving children and families throughout North Florida, South Georgia, and beyond, providing a full range of pediatric health services, from the routine to the most complex, for children of all ages. Over 80,000 children each year visit our Emergency Centers and Hospital, and through our community outreach programs over 133,000 children annually are impacted by the programs and services provided by Wolfson Children's health system. Our philosophy is that caring for children is best accomplished when the care is patient- and family centered. We provide Pet, Music, and Art therapy alongside traditional care, always taking into consideration the entire scope of needs for patients and families. We remain true to our mission of providing the best possible care for all children, regardless of ability to pay. Wolfson Children's continues to be one of the largest providers of charitable care for our region's young patients.
